The SAGE SPEY 2nd generation reels: Enhanced and refined
A SPEY reel must meet specific criteria for spey casting: • Properly balance the rod to which it is dedicated. • Ensure optimal storage of lines specific to spey casting during retrieval.
The new generation of SAGE SPEY reel combines all these criteria The carbon disc SCS brake (sealed carbon system) A brake button adjustable to 39 indexed positions for precise and reproducible brake setting. New sealed O-rings to better withstand compression and last longer A new double-ratchet system to prevent the reel overrunning during casting
• The location of the drillings in the reel and frame ensures ideal mass distribution when the reel is mounted on the rod. • The reel foot has been slightly offset to improve the balance of the rod/reel assembly • The edges of the frame and reel have been rounded to improve line glide and prevent wear during retrieval. • The closed frame also prevents any problems with the shooting line getting caught between the reel and frame. • The edge of the reel is also wider for better control of the reel during fights
• Size 5/6/7 ideal for light rods and fine summer fishing for rods from 11' to 13' • Size 6/7/8 the all-terrain size for rods up to 13'6 • Size 8/9/10 for powerful rods from 14 to 15'
