With its new ultra-rugged SCS drag specially designed and tuned for extreme fishing, the THERMO offers a resistance of 0 to 20 pounds of drag with an unparalleled smoothness and consistency throughout the fight. No breakage or premature wear due to overheating, the THERMO handles the extremes with ease, the drag efficiently dissipates heat through its extra-large and fully sealed carbon disks. The 20 drag setting positions, easy to see, are located at the top of a large diameter wheel that is incredibly easy to grip and adjust in the heat of the action, while 39 detents allow for fine tuning of settings for any combination of leader and line.
The body and spool, very robust, are designed to withstand the rigors of boat fishing, where it is not uncommon to suffer shocks on the gunwales. With a large diameter ergonomic handle for maximum grip and control, a large diameter spool for quick pickup and a capacity between 450 and 500 yards of backing, the THERMO is the ultimate reel of big game fishing.
