The casting rods for predator fish come in different formats: multi-piece, offset (removable handle) and one-piece rods. Multi-piece rods are by far the most common because they are much more practical, whether for hand carrying, in the car or boat, they are much less cumbersome. In addition, with the advancements made on the joints, the hard points of the rod's action tend to disappear, likewise concerning the weak point on the overall strength of the rod. A carbon blank hardly suffers any drawbacks from being in 2 pieces. There is still a difference for travel rods, which have 4 joints, but who knows if one day this will also disappear. The largest brands make casting rods in 2 pieces: Daïwa, Savage Gear, Major craft, Illex, Abu Garcia, Saint Croix and Westin.
