Realistic lures of all shapes and sizes have been popular for decades, but few come close to those handmade by Tomy's Bait. Today, we are excited to announce that Westin has partnered with Tomy to make his Original Perch lure design available worldwide. A lifetime fascination with fish has allowed Tomy to gain an unrivaled understanding of their behavior. Whether keeping fish in aquariums, scuba diving with wild fish, or fishing for them, Tomy has become obsessed with developing artificial baits that better mimic the natural food of predator fish. First created in 2015, Tomy's Original Perch is perhaps his most famous lure. Designed to mimic a small perch, which in most places is a significant part of the diet of predator fish. The Original Perch exemplifies Tomy's attention to detail in pursuit of the most realistic design possible. Pushing the boundaries of handmade lure design through ongoing development, the Original Perch is now at the forefront of lure design. The dynamic shape of the Original Perch was then refined by adding external fins to give it a more realistic look. Combined with the incredibly realistic hand-painted finish, the Original Perch proved irresistible to predator fish from the outset and its reputation has grown internationally as the design has evolved and been adopted by "in-the-know" lure fishermen. The design of the Original Perch's tail pad, turned upwards, has become a characteristic feature of Tomy's lures and gives them a unique action. Not only does the tail design give the lure a unique and realistic movement, but it also beats at slow speeds, including in free fall when the retrieve is interrupted. Fished with a steady retrieve or slightly erratic, the Original Perch has a super effective action for all predator fish.
