Today, we are pleased to announce that Westin has partnered with Tomy to make his Original Perch lure design available worldwide. A lifetime fascination with fish has provided Tomy with an unmatched understanding of their behavior. Whether keeping fish in aquariums, diving with wild fish, or fishing them, Tomy has become obsessed with developing artificial baits that better mimic the natural food of predator fish. First created in 2015, Tomy's Original Perch is perhaps his most famous lure. Developed to mimic a small perch, which is in most places, a significant part of the diet of predator fish. The Original Perch exemplifies Tomy's attention to detail in the pursuit of the most realistic design possible. Pushing the boundaries of hand-made lure design through ongoing development, the Original Perch now stands at the peak of lure design. The dynamic shape of the Original Perch was then fine-tuned by adding external fins to give it a more realistic look. Combined with the incredibly realistic hand-painted finish, the Original Perch proved irresistible to predator fish from the start, and its reputation grew internationally as the design developed and adopted by on-trend lure fishermen. The design of the tail of the Original Perch's paddle, turned upwards, has become a characteristic feature of Tomy lures and gives it a unique action. Not only does the tail design give the lure a unique and realistic movement, but it also beats at slow speeds, including freefall when retraction is interrupted. Fished with a steady or slightly erratic retrieval, the Original Perch has a super-effective action for all predator fish.
