The Bantam is a robust, all-purpose casting reel! The Coresolid frame is made from an ultra-durable, remarkably rigid aluminum, giving the assured feeling of a "round" profile reel, with the ergonomic design and ease of use of a casting reel. You're probably familiar with the Bantam name, which has been around for over 40 years and is highly favored by lure fishers looking for solid, uncompromising performance. The reel has a neat, powerful look. It is easy to match with any mid to high-end Shimano fishing rods, and it fits well in hand, making grip very easy and comfortable. You will undoubtedly notice the excellent casting performance and will certainly be impressed by the power of the fish-play that is a hallmark of the Bantam name. The latest version of the Bantam incorporates a lightweight MGL III spool and an SVS Infinity system, which is further enhanced by Silent Tune and Super Free Spool. Lures of any size can be safely cast to remarkable distances and the brake can be instantly adjusted using the external dial to suit different lure sizes or conditions. But it's in retrieval and fishing performance that the Bantam truly excels. The combination of the Micromodule gearing and the Infinity Drive gives super smooth steering, even during retrieval at high speeds, and combined with the rigidity of the Coresolid body allows for maximum power transfer from the handle to the fish when the tension is really on. And don't worry about the lack of give if you're using a braided line. The Cross Carbon drag is smooth, powerful, and always reliable, even in the most demanding conditions.
