The Torium is the flagship of Shimano's range of star drag casting reel, with a mid-range price. The lightweight, compact construction and high ratio of 6.2:1 allows you to use the Torium for a wide range of methods, including jigging, bottom fishing and even casting large lures and leads. If you are looking for a small, reliable and high-performing spinning reel from Shimano, the Torium is an excellent option and offers exceptional versatility for a wide range of fishing methods. Available in both left and right crank options, the fast retrieval is ideal if you are a fan of deep water or squid fishing, with more than enough strength to overcome the largest bottom dwelling predator. You can also pair it with a lighter rod for slow jigging, or even casting with lures and larger ones. As soon as you hold the Torium, you can feel the build quality produced by the lightweight HAGANE body. It is sturdy and resilient, yet very compact thanks to the S Compact body design. In fact, its visual size belies the power and line capacity of this very well formed fast multiplier. With a ratio of 6.2:1, all sizes, except for the smallest size 14, retrieve well over a meter of line per round. Thanks to the large Cross Carbon Drag brake washers, adjusted by the Star Drag, the Torium has an 11 kg brake, making it an ideal partner for all pelagic fish, except for the largest ones.
