The SpeedMaster II has been designed for speed and offers one of the fastest retrievals available. Built to provide premium performance and reliability, in a compact and lightweight frame, it delivers relentless power when it switches to slow speed mode, to tame the biggest fish. If you are looking for a versatile speed multiplier, to cover just about all your sea fishing activities, the compact SpeedMaster II is the reel you were looking for. With the additional advantage that it is located in the average price range, whether you fish on the bottom in the deepest oceans, whether you fish with handline in shallow waters or whether you troll for tuna, the SpeedMaster II has speed to spare when you need it. And when we switch to slow speed, the high torque, the reassuring power and the impressive drag performance assure you to take the upper hand, even when you fight the largest pelagic species. The rigid Hagane aluminum body of the SpeedMaster II is remarkably compact for easy handling, especially in small sizes, and prevents any misalignment of the internal moving parts. It also features Shimano's high performance E.I. surface treatment to protect it against corrosion. Inside, the stainless steel gear is supported by 4 shielded S A-RB bearings, which resist corrosion and ensure regular performance, even at the highest speeds or under extreme pressure. The powerful brake is actuated by the easy-to-use brake lever, which securely engages. As a bonus, a spare brake lever, which produces a less aggressive brake curve for optimal use with monofilaments, when fishing for pelagic species, is also included.
• Shimano's fastest and most versatile lever drag multiplier • Ratchet lever drive with possibility of adding "monofilament" • 2-speed gear drive (II models) for increased power and torque • Shimano A-RB (rust-resistant) bearings resistant to corrosion • Coreprotect water protection for light rotation and trouble-free use.
