When looking for a
zander lure, it is normal not to immediately think of fishing with a spoon, which is much more used for other predators and you will more easily find a
pike spoon or a
perch spoon. Indeed, zander is usually fished more with a
soft zander lure.
However, some uses of spoons for zander can be very relevant. First, when the zander hunts on the surface, it can be fished with a spinning spoon, however its shallow depth will limit this use. On the other hand, with an oscillating spoon, one can skirt the bottom and reach greater depths, those where the zander prefers to stay. You will need to choose a rather narrow and heavy zander oscillating spoon, more than 15 grams to reach 10 meters without wasting too much time. Finally, in vertical fishing, the zander jigging spoon will be an excellent choice and will not only attract perch, the zanders will also be sensitive to it and will gobble it up.
