The wading pants offer a unique option among all the
waders out there, they distinctly set themselves apart from waders or thigh waders. It will stop at the waist, thus, it will be shorter than waders and slightly higher than thigh waders. It will be more comfortable and lighter than waders, allowing you to maintain full freedom of movement with the torso and arms, but obviously, you will go in less deep water.
This "in-between" means that wading pants are somewhat underused and many fishermen prefer to gear up with
neoprene waders or
breathable waders.
On this subject, a pair of wading pants can be made from these two materials, and also exists in a "stocking" version, thus requiring
wading shoes.
