The SLX MGL is a great addition to the very popular SLX family. With its compact body that fits perfectly in hand, it offers excellent value for money coupled with a distinctive style and a super lightweight MGL spool. The perfect light lure fishing rod for budget fishermen. The SLX name is now well established in the baitcasting reel market and has an enviable reputation for its value and performance. If these characteristics appeal to you, but you want an even lighter and smoother option suited for light lines, the more compact SLX MGL version will certainly be at the top of your list. With its low inertia MGL spool, it's much easier to cast light lures, allowing you to flip, pitch or overhead cast with ease. While the SLX MGL is designed as an affordable light line reel, it still offers great versatility and is certainly strong enough to handle medium-sized lures and powerful fish. This is due to the powerful HAGANE body, brass gears, and Cross Carbon drag. But the main reason to use this reel is the way it handles lighter line and lures. The combination of the MGL spool, SVS Infinity drag, and S3D vibration-reducing spool is as good as it gets in the mass market sector.
