Woolpower manufactures warm base layers and mid-layer clothing from their own Ullfrotté Original fabric. The brand makes all of its products in Sweden. In the Östersund factory: "we take care of everything, from knitting and fabric preparation to sewing, packaging and product storage. We specialize in manufacturing functional products that withstand extreme weather conditions, sudden changes in weather, and different activity levels. Our clothing should be the first choice for people who spend a lot of time outdoors and want to trust their equipment. The clothing is popular with mountain hikers and wind turbine technicians." The brand's vision is to "generate warmth for 100 years" means it makes products that keep people warm for years, no matter the weather, and that as a company, it acts with warmth and respect towards everything and everyone who is in any way involved, dependent or affected by us. Woolpower was formerly known as Ullfrotté. The company was founded in Östersund in 1969 as a manufacturing unit and supplier for "Kooperativa Förbundet" (the Cooperative Union) and was then named Vinetta. The company once had more than 530 employees and mainly manufactured nylon tights. In the early 1970s, the Ullfrotté Original fabric was developed in collaboration with the Swedish Armed Forces. The goal was to create warm, durable and easy-to-care-for clothes. The first Ullfrotté clothes began to be manufactured in 1972.
