The vertical fishing rods are specially designed for the "vertical" fishing technique, which consists of making the lure evolve vertically from the boat or float-tube. This technique, particularly effective on percids (zander and perch) but also on pike or catfish, requires a sensitive and tactile vertical rod accompanied by a spinning or casting reel filled with braided line and a fluorocarbon leader. Indeed, the rod must have a high sensitivity to distinctly make contact with the bottom and make the lure evolve as closely as possible. In addition, it must allow to feel the slightest bite which can be brutal as well as very fine. The power of the rod is crucial depending on the size of the lures and leaded heads used and the fish targeted. You will find in this section the vertical rod that meets your needs according to the different weights used for your vertical assembly. The biggest brands with vertical rods Illex, Tenryu or Westin.
