Some waders are not equipped with boots, but with simple booties, and it is therefore necessary for you to wear wading shoes to walk in the water. Unlike waders with integrated boots, wading shoes will be much more comfortable and practical for long walks and maintaining balance when the ground is slippery. Wading shoes are available with felt soles, offering excellent grip on slippery surfaces, or rubber, which is often preferred to minimize the spread of invasive species that can remain in the wet felt.

These kind of products are useful for all mobile fishing, mainly fly fishing of course, but also trout and predator fishing.

What size should I choose for wading shoes?
Manufacturers have taken into account the thickness of the booty and normally, you should take your usual size.

Popular brands will be the biggest fly fishing brands, who have been manufacturing stocking waders and suitable shoes for many years: Orvis, JMC, Vision, Devaux for example.

Among all the waders, you will need to complete by choosing either neoprene waders, or breathable waders, but be careful to choose waders with booties, also called "stocking".
