Carp fishermen generally abide by a ritual after each catch: the weighing. We can talk about a ritual because the steps will often be the same, optimized to avoid unnecessary suffering and damage to the fish. However, it is still advisable to release your catch directly and reserve the weighing for record fish whose weight is interesting to know. It is best to place the already wet
weighing bag in the
carp reception mat while the carp is in the
carp net, once the carp is inside and freed from the hook and the net, you can then attach the weigh and lift to read the weight. If the clutter doesn't bother you, a weighing tripod minimizes the effort, otherwise the handle of the net can be used as a lever, or simply with a handheld weighing bar. Weights are available at all prices, depending on the precision, possible reset or finally the ability to read the weight directly on a digital weigh, but be careful to have spare batteries. The best-known models are the
carp spirit weights, or the
fox digital weight.
