Our first model of spinning spoon: the Sleepy, very technical... too much...did not get unanimous support because of its difficulty to use. That's why we decided to work on a model that is much more versatile and adaptable to everyone.
The Blackbird meets these requirements: it is an "in-line" style spinning spoon that spins as soon as it touches the water and at the slightest solicitation, even when reeling very slowly. Its feel in the rod sometimes requires the use of a rolling swivel to limit twisting in large rivers.
Thanks to its drop-shaped weight, this spoon sinks quickly to fish at the bottom of deep holes or to stay oriented in strong currents. Reeling slowly will allow you to guide it to the desired depth but it will easily rise in the water column as soon as the recovery speed is increased. The Blackbird handles both strong currents and flat calms, which makes it versatile by the water.
