Today, we are pleased to announce that Westin has teamed up with Tomy to make his Original Perch lure design available worldwide. A lifetime fascination with fish has led Tomy to gain an unrivalled understanding of their behaviour. Whether it's keeping fish in aquariums, scuba diving with wild fish or fishing them, Tomy has become obsessed with developing artificial baits that better mimic the natural food of predatory fish. First created in 2015, Tomy's Original Perch may be his most famous lure. Developed to mimic a small perch, which in most places, is an important part of the diet of predator fish. The Original Perch exemplifies Tomy's attention to detail in seeking the most realistic design possible. Pushing the boundaries of handmade lure design through continuous development, the Original Perch is now at the peak of lure design. The dynamic shape of the Original Perch was further refined by the addition of external fins to give it a more realistic look. Combined with the incredibly realistic hand-painted finish, the Original Perch proved irresistible to predatory fish from the outset, and its reputation has grown internationally as the design developed and was adopted by up-and-coming lure fishermen". The design of the Original Perch's paddle tail, turned up, has become a characteristic element of Tomy's lures and gives them a unique action. Not only does the tail design give the lure a unique and realistic movement, but it also beats at slow speeds, including free-fall when retrieval is interrupted. Fished with a regular or slightly erratic retrieval, the Original Perch has a super effective action for all predator fish.
