The Catana is a rear drag spinning reel designed for general use in fresh water. Ideal for youth, new anglers and inexperienced anglers, it offers excellent value for money combined with Shimano's proven reliability. If you're looking for a freshwater spinning reel at a very affordable price, the Catana is a great starting point. Ideal for a wide range of fishing, from light and medium-sized lures, to English fishing and feeder fishing, the understated looks are fantastic and the performance is remarkable for a reel of this price. Thanks to its easy-to-adjust rear drag, the Catana is suitable for young anglers and inexperienced anglers. Equipped with 2 shielded stainless steel ball bearings and a roller bearing, the Catana is not short of quality features and engineering. Featuring a cold forged aluminum spool and an AR-C line management system, suitable for mono and braid, as well as the Varispeed system which prevents mono and braid from getting stuck under pressure, the Catana is very easy to use. The body is made from Shimano's XT-7 composite, which is lightweight and strong enough to withstand unexpected shocks and clumsy handling. Available in 4 sizes to suit a wide variety of fishing methods
