Kickers might just be a piece of folded rubber, but often the simplest things in fishing have the biggest impact, and these will help to improve the hooking potential of a multitude of different rigs.
The bent hook rig was incredibly effective, but also caused quite a bit of damage, and so for years anglers have used bits of shrink tube to replicate its effect. Kickers eliminate all the problems, as they give the same effect, but by simply sliding them over the eye of your hook, rather than having to mess around with steam.
They are also perfect for used with spinner rigs. Some anglers want to camouflage their setup as much as possible, and the green or brown version is perfect for this, but on some sites, a brightly-colored piece of tube on the hook can actually make it more attractive. There are also mixed red/white and yellow/pink versions, if you want to add a touch of color to your hook. Also, for anglers who use natural baits like maggots and casters or who regularly fish in mud where bloodworm are widespread, the latest addition to the Kicker range is the Bloodworm Red version.
All the kickers, whatever their color, are made from sturdy rubber, with three different sizes to fit the hook you're using - small for sizes 10 and 12; medium for sizes 6 and 8; large for sizes 2 and 4 - so they stay securely in place on the eye. When you hook a fish, the Kicker pulls straight during the fight but returns to its original shape and is ready to be reused. You receive ten Kickers in each pack.
