We started the XO project in 2013. The aim was to make a rod that surpasses all other rods. We tried and tested all the possible combinations of materials and actions. Perfection was the watchword. We added some hints of our Finnish origins.
The next level of XO fly rods. We only wanted to release the new generation of XO rods if we could bring significant improvements to the materials. Graphene made this possible. 3 years of prototypes and action testing led to the launch of the XO Graphene fly rods. With this new material available and being the most resistant material tested in the world, it requires many tests and action adjustments. When one of these rods is cast for the first time, the difference is immediately noticeable. Graphene allows for stronger rods to be made with less material, translating into action with incredible strength for smooth actions.
The long # 3 weight rods are specially designed for Euro nymphing. They feature a down-locking reel seat for better balance, close spacing or small single-leg rings to prevent line sag for perfect drifts. They also have our tangle-free tip with the last ring being a double leg snake ring. These 2 models are designed with some of the best competition fishermen in the world.
