The XO reel is now available in Merisuola version. A reel with a braking mechanism used for over 20 years with countless huge fish to its credit. The larger reels are intended for intensive use of salmon and at sea. The braking power is at its maximum in less than 2.5 turns of the brake to give you an impressive maximum force of 8 kg. The seals are made in Germany and all the bearings come from Japan. Merisuola 7-8 has the same wide arbour design and the same braking system as the XO 7-8. However, we have increased the power and braking capacity on this Merisuola version.
Merisuola 89 is a NEW additional size to the XO Merisuola reel family. The 8/9 is the ideal reel for heavier single-handed rods and Switch rods. The braking system is a slightly modified version of the larger and more brutal 9/10 and 10/12 reels, allowing us to make a reel with a sufficiently large maximum braking force. The frame of the spool are machined to reduce weight, but the construction itself makes this spool super rigid.
