The Aero XR - Shimano received the Pecheur Awards Cyprinids 2023 for the feeder reel not too big (3000/4000) that can also be used for English style fishing.
The Aero XR is an advanced match and feeder reel containing all the attributes required by high-level competition anglers. It is equipped with an anti-reverse device, a lightweight CI4+ body and rotor, and an advanced HAGANE gear for unparalleled performance. If you are a competition angler, or if you fish with a float or a feeder, and want a reel up to your abilities, the Aero XR is the solution. All reels balance perfectly with the best Shimano Aero X5, X7 and Pro match and feeder rods, giving you a formidable combination that provides a competitive edge. With their super smooth sealed brakes, and an additional anti-reverse device, you can control fish directly with the brake when using stronger lines, rewinding when using fine lines, or using a combination of the two. The smaller size 3000 is perfect for all short distance float and feeder fishing, the medium size 4000 is ideal for larger float fishing or medium distance feeder, and the largest size 5000 is ideal for longer feeder fishing or medium distance heavy feeder fishing. With a G-Free CI4+ body and rotor, all models are remarkably light, with the size 4000 weighing only 250 g, which represents a significant reduction compared to competitor models of the same size. An additional advantage you can feel is the precision of light rotation, which is the result of the construction of the CI4+ rotor and HAGANE Gear, X-SHIP, Silent Drive technology. Additional features include top AR-C cold forged aluminum spools, (including a spare spool) with a line reducer to reduce the line capacity of the reel. The larger 5000 model has an additional reducer for use with braid in long distance feeder fishing. Power is delivered by a screw-in handle, and a solid and secure metal line clip reinforces the XR's feeder fishing pedigree.
