The TSN-99 PROMINAR looks like no other spotting scope, a statement of style and sophistication with bold details. But appearance is not everything, each sleek curve has been considered at the design stage and delivers a lens with comfort and ease of use at the forefront. Fluid ergonomics combined with top-notch engineering deliver a spotting scope that's easy to use in the field for long periods.
Kowa's optical engineers have improved transmission on the spotting scope by eliminating every last speck of light. They have used a newly developed, enhanced coating, perfectly suited to a pure fluorite crystal lens.
The idea is to push this unique coating for both lenses and prism to the peak of performance.
FIRST SPOTTING SCOPE TO FEATURE BOTH A CONCAVE XD LENS AND A PURE FLUORITE CRYSTAL LENS
A Kowa XD lens with extremely low dispersion characteristics is used for the concave lens of the TSN-99 PROMINAR. The concave lens combined with the fluorite crystal lens has special dispersion properties to reduce chromatic aberration even further.
This special combination practically eliminates chromatic aberration, even at high magnification. It redefines color brilliance standards. This technology is the result of many years of Kowa optical design.
DOUBLE FOCUS - QUICK/FINE
The TSN-99 benefits from Kowa's highly perfected double focus gear system.
Quick focus allows for quick action to bring the subject into the finest details in a few turns, while fine focus allows for precise fingertip control, offering ultimate focus accuracy with meticulous adjustments, even possible with gloves.
We believe no other spotting scopes offer this level of fine control.
The responsive focus system is tuned not only to respond effortlessly to conventional observation but increases performance for digiscoping where precise focus is essential.
COMPACT, TRANSPORTABLE & LIGHTWEIGHT
A super strong magnesium alloy chassis is used. This lightweight material is created using a sophisticated casting process called thixotropic molding. Result: a material with all the strength benefits of metal while remaining lightweight.
By using nearly 100% magnesium alloy structure, the TSN-99 PROMINAR series spotting scope is one of the most compact and lightest in its category.
The new TSN-99 series now benefits from a magnesium lens barrel (formerly aluminum on the TSN-880 models) further reducing the weight.
