Small dimensions, exceptional optics: With its length of 258 mm, the ATC observation spotting scope with inclined eyepiece module slips into any backpack. Weighing only 970 g, it is the obvious choice for excursions on rugged terrain and in distant places. The clever half-shell allows it to be easily positioned on a surface, even without a tripod, and allows you to use the focusing and zoom ring freely at any time. Associated with the VPA adapter, the ATC spotting scope is ideal for digiscopy. The strap adds a perfect finishing touch.
OBJECTIVE LENS DIAMETER The diameter of the objective lens determines the amount of light that can penetrate the optics. It is therefore a crucial factor in an instrument's performance, for example, at dusk. The larger the objective lens diameter, the more light the objective lens can capture. The darker the environment, the larger the lens diameter should be. Check the exact name of the product, as the number after "x" indicates the objective lens diameter in millimeters. For example, a device with the suffix 10x42 has an objective lens with a diameter of 42 mm.
VARIABLE MAGNIFICATION The variable magnification allows you to adjust the magnification flexibly within a specific range. Unlike fixed magnification, it allows you to zoom from the lowest value to the highest value. However, as the magnification increases, the field of view (i.e., the observed part of the image) becomes narrower. Carefully check the product name, as the number before "x" indicates the magnification. For example, a 30-70x95 model is a device with a variable magnification of 30x to 70x.
REAL FIELD OF VIEW The real field of view refers to the size of the part of the image that can be observed through the optics. It is expressed in meters (width) at a distance of 1000 meters (m/1000m) or as an angle (degrees). The higher the magnification, the narrower the field of view. Binoculars have an extended field of view, which means you can observe a large area. Observation spotting scopes have a higher magnification, which reduces their field of view but allows you to observe more details.
WEIGHT The weight indicates the device weight (in grams). Do you plan to walk a lot? If so, the lightness of the equipment is a priority.
