A lifetime fascination with fish has enabled Tomy to acquire an unparalleled understanding of their behavior. Whether keeping fish in aquariums, scuba diving with wild fish, or angling them, Tomy has become obsessed with developing artificial bait that better mimics the natural food of predatory fish.
First established in 2015, Tomy's Original Perch is perhaps his most famous lure. Developed to mimic a small perch, which, in most locales, makes up an important part of the diet of predatory fish. The Original Perch demonstrates Tomy's attention to detail in striving for the most realistic design possible. Pushing the boundaries of handmade lure design through ongoing development, the Original Perch is now at the pinnacle of lure design.
The dynamic shape of the Original Perch was further refined by the addition of external fins giving it a more realistic appearance. Combined with the incredibly realistic hand painted finish, the Original Perch proved irresistible to predatory fish right from the start, and its reputation has grown internationally as the design developed and got adopted by in-the-know lure anglers.
The design of the paddle tail of the Original Perch, pointed upwards, has become a characteristic feature of Tomy's lures, granting them a unique action.
