The Baitrunner OC offers a great combination of price and power. Originally designed for the American market for saltwater, this fearless Baitrunner reel is also an excellent reel for large freshwater fish, for anglers who want a very resistant reel. Don't be fooled by the "OC" (Oceanic) suffix of this robust Baitrunner. Even though it was originally designed for sea bait fishing, it is also an excellent freshwater reel for catfish, pike and carp. With its attractive price and quality of manufacture, you can't go wrong with this model. The appealing combination of the black body and silver spool is discreet and will suit most situations where a free-spool reel is required. Built in Shimano's XT-7 composite, this reel is lighter than it looks and is equipped with A-RB waterproof bearings, which resist corrosion in saltwater, so you can be sure that they will be perfect for freshwater fishing. The AR-C spool, with its unique angular lip, works in conjunction with Varispeed, Shimano's variable oscillation system, which allows for excellent line winding with nylon and braid. All model sizes have a ratio of 4.8:1, which provides a great retrieval speed and the powerful front brake will handle anything you might hook in fresh or saltwater.
