The Long Chuck Tapered Mainline has been designed for distance casting in situations where you want to fish directly without a leader knot - particularly useful in places where there are weeds and where they can accumulate around the knot and cause problems at your line tip level. The Long Chuck Tapered mainline body is supplied on a 300-meter reel and includes at each end an 8-meter section of 0.47 mm (30 lb) diameter line designed to withstand the force of casting - while offering good abrasion resistance when you're fighting a fish - as well as a 2-meter section that tapers down to the diameter of the main line you've chosen. It's identical at both ends, so if you have a break, you can simply reverse the line on your reel and use it again. This tapered line body has the same properties as the long chuck line body, with very low elasticity to help compress the rod (heavy mono lines are usually quite stretchy and hinder casting); low water absorption; lightweight for its breaking strength, as it is clear (dyes add weight), it therefore stays longer in the air; and high breaking strength/diameter ratio to reduce drag.
