CHARACTERISTICS Waterproof: The more waterproof the fabric. Breathable The human body produces about 0.06 liters of water per hour at rest, and the more effort increases, the more the amount of water released will be significant. Water-Repellent Water-repellent features of a material should not be confused with its waterproofness: a fabric's water-repellency is its ability to let water bead on its surface, without absorbing it. Water-repellency is not an inherent quality of the fabric, but results from a hydrophobic treatment applied to the outer surface of the fabric; normal wear and tear, as well as detergents and other impurities require reactivation of the water-repellent treatment, or a renewal of the treatment.
