Bermudes Size Guide

BERMUDES
Tested against the sea and approved by some of the greatest sailors such as Olivier de Kersauson or Erwan Tabarly, the Bermudes brand has been designing high-quality technical clothing since 1984 that draws its legitimacy and inspiration from the world of sailing!

CHARACTERISTICS
Waterproof:
The more waterproof the fabric is. Your rain gear is chosen based on several criteria: the type of rain and exposure time will help you determine the waterproof level of your rainwear. A jacket is considered waterproof at 5000 mm of water should keep you dry in a rain of 100 L/h/m² for more than 2 hours. The qualitative character of rainfall is difficult to evaluate, Météo-France considers that on our territory, a heavy rain corresponds to a level of rainfall of 8 L/h/m², far away then from these records! Breathable
The human body produces about 0.06 liters of water per hour at rest, and the more effort increases, the more the amount of water released will be significant. Breathability is the ability of a fabric to wick away the water vapor created by the body in effort. A fabric guaranteeing good breathability limits the condensation of water vapor inside the garment and keeps the body dry, you need to know that even at rest and the more intense the effort

Sealed
It is not enough for the component your jacket is made of to be waterproof to ensure you stay dry; the needle holes needed to assemble your jacket need to be sealed to ensure the product's perfect waterproofness. The velcros, elastic bands and cuffs located at the ends also allow you to limit water entries. On our sealed parts you will find an example with the carteline.

Water-repellent
A material's water-repellent characteristics should not be confused with its waterproofness: the water-repellency of a fabric corresponds to its ability to let water bead on its surface, without absorbing it. Water-repellency is not an intrinsic quality of the fabric but results from a water-repellent treatment applied to the outer face of the fabric; normal wear and tear, as well as detergents and other impurities require reactivation of the water-repellent treatment, or renewal of the treatment.

Windproof
The sensation of cold increases considerably with the wind. The coating and the membrane applied to the back of the fabric of your jacket constitute a barrier against the wind and therefore allow you to limit heat loss.

Semi-Sealed
During inclement weather, it is the upper part of your jacket that is particularly exposed. That's why, for even more comfort and technicality, the main seams of your garment are sealed.
