Originating from the alpine regions of Austria, loden is a type of thick, water-resistant woolen fabric traditionally earth-green in colour. The fabric is made from loosely woven wool, then subjected to a process called "fulling". Similar to felting, this process makes the fabric dense and weather-resistant. Historically, loden was used by farmers, shepherds, and hunters to protect themselves from harsh alpine winters.To perpetuate the tradition of loden, Hart has updated the concept with its NATURE set.
