This conical leader, commonly called a rat tail, is specially designed to increase casting distances in surfcasting. The leader gradually goes from a strong diameter of 0.57 mm, which withstands the pressure of casting, to a smaller diameter that is easily tied to the reel line. Both competitive and leisurely technical fishermen will appreciate the discretion of the translucent color. The red color offers good visibility of the setup to facilitate untangling, especially at night.
