The sharpening process of Kamakura produces a hook point that is as sharp as a hand-sharpened hook, but without you having to spend all the time and effort necessary to do it yourself - you can be sure that these hooks are perfect each time, right out of the box. The Kamakura Wide Gape X is an upgraded version of this classic model, with a thicker "wire", but a much finer point than the standard 'X' hook - it is likely that you will have to change your hook after each fish you catch, due to the delicacy of the point. It features a slightly inward turned eye, with a short shank, a strong bend of iron and a beak point. It can be used with a wide variety of pop-up presentations and ground baits, and once it hooks, it has this ability to stay embedded. The points are protected by a wax film that must be carefully removed before use, and they are provided in a box that keeps each hook securely in place - ten hooks in each box. Versions with or without barb are available in size 4, 6, or 8.
