The strouille (or broumé), a pulp of sardines, is the most used bait in the sea today. Few species of fish can resist its scent. In the Atlantic, the blocks of strouille are used to bait mainly grey sea breams while fishermen in the Mediterranean use it to attract schools of mackerels, bonitos, dolphinfish and red tuna. Snapper, seabream, and dentex also respond very well to baiting from a boat. Our strouille is composed only of fresh whole sardines, without additives or preservatives. It is used still frozen in nets or baiting devices mainly from a boat but also from the shore. It is also possible to thaw the pulp and mix it with other ingredients to make a homemade bait or to fill a bait or feeder lead.
