The flathead (Platycephalus fuscus), or dark flathead, is the largest member of the Platycephalidae family. The species can be found in estuaries as well as in sea arms and shallow coastal bays. It's a narrow and long fish that can grow over one meter long, weighing more than 12 kg, although most specimens are around 50 cm. It is highly prized by anglers and chefs for its delicious taste.
