Le Chirurgien Palette (Paracanthurus hepatus) est un beau poisson marin aux couleurs intenses. Aussi connu sous le nom de Hippo Tang, c'est un représentant très populaire de la communauté récifale. On le retrouve dans les zones riches en corail de la région indo-pacifique. L’espèce vit en petits groupes ou en couples. Les juvéniles se nourrissent principalement de plancton et d'algues tandis que les adultes sont omnivores. C'est un poisson d'aquarium prisé, bien qu'il soit difficile à maintenir en captivité.
