The Saltiga BJ is developed for Bay Jigging fishing. This involves catching fish vertically from a boat, using slow or minimal movements. While it's a Madaï Jig's preferred usage, all vertically and slow fishing methods suit it: Large soft baits, live bait, jigging or slow-jigging. Thus, the risk of breakage at bite is reduced. Moreover, this brake has a precise and powerful mechanical adjustment via a robust, larger single-piece star.
Uncommon in a baitcasting reel, it has a ringing drag that emits a click at start like a spinning reel. In addition to the standard anti-return, a mechanical anti-return is installed for absolute reel blockage during the fishing action and to confidently handle large fish. To combine strength and comfort, the offset round body allows the angler to wrap the reel in the hand for a firm grip.
The single-piece aluminium frame machined by CNC hides an exceptional gear. Guided by a MagSealed magnetic bearing, it displays an absolute and lasting rotation smoothness. The gear and line guide are synchronised for perfect winding and optimal line exit always in the axis of the roller.
