• New Multilayer Lens Treatment
• The multilayer lens treatment allows better light transmission through the lenses and prevents the risk of Flare and ghost images (stray lights). PENTAX applies several layers of coating to each lens surface, the Prism and this for the entire range of binoculars. This treatment ensures better light transmission for a sharper view.

New coating for light transmission
The complex optical design of roof prism binoculars provides reliability and compactness but requires a high level of optical perfection. A special coating on the roof prism facets is necessary for maximum aiming quality. PENTAX optimises this quality by applying a new surface film technology to the lenses and the Prism for a better result of chromatic and brightness rendering.

BaK4 Prism
Thanks to its incredible refractive index, the BaK4 prism, found in all PENTAX binoculars, is highly appreciated for its circular pupil output and absence of vignetting.

Special prism treatment
For "roof prism" type binoculars, light rays limit light transmission. With this treatment, light rays suffer no loss. Unlike other manufacturers who only use this treatment on their high-end models,
PENTAX applies it to all of its "roof prism" type models.

Sealing
005_focus_copie.jpg

PENTAX waterproof products are completely sealed and purged with liquid nitrogen in a laboratory for fog-free viewing in the toughest conditions. With the JIS Class 6 standard, waterproof PENTAX binoculars can even be submerged up to 1 meter underwater.

Construction with internal focus
This design is ideal for waterproof models that require a completely sealed construction. It also contributes to a maximum reduction in size and weight and improves balance and reliability.

Purged with Nitrogen
Nitrogen is a chemical element and a colourless, odourless and tasteless gas. It contains very little moisture and is used to purge binoculars and spotting scopes of the very humid air that is part of our environment. Because of its low moisture factor, nitrogen prevents the formation of condensation on the internal lenses of optical instruments during rapid temperature changes. In addition, the gas sealing is done slightly above atmospheric pressure, so dust and other tiny particles cannot enter the body of the instrument.

Long eye relief
The comfortable eye relief that nearly all PENTAX binoculars benefit from allows the user to maintain the entire field of vision clearly and comfortably. This is particularly beneficial for eyeglass wearers, and allows for long periods of observation without eye strain.

Rubber exterior finish
It provides effective protection against shocks and impacts.
