Binoculars Features: The 10x42 Terra ED Zeiss binoculars combine SCHOTT ED glasses with a compact and waterproof casing to create a versatile optics offering an image quality and a sleek silhouette worthy of the name Carl Zeiss.
The Terra ED is the third line of binoculars to come enrich the catalogue of the optics manufacturer from Wetzlar. They come to complement a range that already includes the popular Conquest and the legendary Victory. The engineers at Carl Zeiss Sport Optics have designed the Terra ED for birdwatchers and hunters looking for affordable equipment, while still retaining the qualities of Zeiss optics.
SCHOTT ED lenses are designed to maximise light transmission and render a contrast-rich image. Thanks to the adoption of Schmidt-Pechan type roof prisms and a lightweight composite chassis, these binoculars weigh in at 725g. The Terra EDs are nitrogen-filled, which prevents the formation of fog and makes them waterproof to a depth of about 3 metres.
This model offers an incredible observation experience thanks to its 10x magnification and its comfortable 15mm eye relief. The short focusing distance (from 1.6 m) allows getting very close to the bird or the observed subject. This binocular also offers excellent ergonomics thanks to its central focusing wheel and its twist-up eyecups, arguably making the Terra ED the best mid-range binocular on the market.
