The Aero Technium name has long been associated with extreme distance casting, and this new range of 6 Competition models perpetuates this reputation. If you're an angler who wants to maximise their casting potential while maintaining optimum fishing performance, this range is for you. With a variety of tips to cater to the wide-ranging preferences of competition anglers, the Aero Technium leaves nothing to chance.

In short, the Aero Technium Competition is the best long-distance surf rod ever built by Shimano and, when paired with the Aero Technium MGS reel, it makes a remarkable combination for long-distance fishing.

The secret to the exceptional performance of the Aero Technium Competition lies in the carbon technology used. A combination of Spiral X Core, Nanopitch, and Hi-Power X work in harmony to maximise the power transmitted to the lead during the cast. The Spiral X Core and Nanopitch combine to reduce the overall weight, which increases the rod's speed. They also provide significant torsional stiffness and power, allowing maximum force to be transferred through the blank. The Hi-Power X construction uses different layers of carbon to eliminate any twisting of the blank under load, allowing for a more direct application of power. And if this combination of technologies isn't enough, check out the three different tip options available.
Fuji Torzite rings in Low Rider or KW depending on the models.

The Hybrid Tip option is primarily hollow, with a solid tip section spliced in at the end to increase bite detection. The Long Hybrid Tips have a longer solid tip section that further increases bite detection. Finally, for optimal bite detection, particularly when targeting smaller competition fish using fine lines, the Sensitive Long Hybrid maximises bites to a level never seen with such a powerful rod.

There is also a choice of rings to suit your preferences. The Fuji Titanium SIC type RV rings paired with the Fuji Titanium NS7 reel seat, preferred by anglers using ultra-fine lines or the more traditional Fuji Titanium SIC type K rings paired with the Fuji DNPS reel seat.

• Shimano's ultimate long-distance surfcasting rod
• Spiral X Core + Nanopitch + Hi-Power X carbon blank
• Three tip options. Hybrid, Long Hybrid, and Sensitive Long Hybrid
• Two ring and reel seat choices:
• Fuji Titanium SIC type RV rings / Fuji T-NS7 reel seat
• Fuji Titanium SIC type K rings / Fuji DNPS reel seat
