The TSN-99 PROMINAR is unlike any other spotting scope, a statement of style and sophistication with bold details. But looks aren't everything, every sleek curve has been taken into account at the design stage and delivers a lens with comfort and ease of use at the forefront. A smooth ergonomics combined with top-notch engineering offers an easy-to-use spotting scope in the field for extended periods.
Kowa optical engineers have improved transmission on the spotting scope by eliminating every last particle of light. They thus used a new improved coating, newly developed, perfectly adapted to a lens of pure fluorite crystal.
The idea being to push this unique coating as well for lenses and prism to the pinnacle of performance.
FIRST SPOTTING SCOPE TO FEATURE BOTH A CONCAVE XD LENS AND A PURE FLUORITE CRYSTAL LENS
A Kowa XD lens with extremely low dispersion characteristics is used for the TSN-99 PROMINAR's concave lens. The concave lens combined with the fluorite crystal lens has special dispersion properties to further reduce chromatic aberration.
This special combination virtually eliminates chromatic aberration, even at high magnification. It redefines standards of color brilliance. This technology is the result of many years of Kowa optical design.
DOUBLE FOCUSING– QUICK/FINE
The TSN-99 benefits from Kowa's highly advanced dual focusing gear system.
Quick focus allows for quick action to bring the subject into fine detail in a few turns, while fine focusing allows for precise fingertip control, offering ultimate focusing precision with meticulous adjustments, even possible with gloves.
We think no other spotting scope offers this level of fine control.
The responsive focusing system is tuned not only to effortlessly respond to conventional viewing but increases performances like for digiscoping when precise focusing is essential.
COMPACT, PORTABLE & LIGHTWEIGHT
A super-strong magnesium alloy chassis is used. This lightweight material is made using a sophisticated casting process called thixotropic moulding. Result: a material with all the advantages of metal strength while remaining lightweight.
Using almost 100% a magnesium alloy structure, the TSN-99 PROMINAR series spotting scope is one of the most compact and lightest in its class.
The new TSN-99 series now benefits from a magnesium objective barrel (formerly aluminium on TSN-880 models) further reducing weight.
