With the Airdrive Design, control your reel as you see fit!

This new technological concept from Airdrive Design will herald the future of Daiwa reels and open this first page of a new era with the 22 EXIST!

The development of this new reel was based on dividing the product into two different units. The rear part, the body, draws on skills mastered by Daiwa since the introduction of Monocoque and Tough Digigear technologies, essential for robustness and reliability. The front part of the reel has undergone a complete overhaul and the creation of the Airdrive Design concept around key parts like the rotor, the bail arm, the spool, and the shaft.

The Airdrive Rotor, the work on the rotor shape, increases the resistance of this essential component while lightening the reel and reducing rotational inertia by 16% compared to the previous version.

Airdrive Bail: The robustness of the Airbail bail arms has always been a strong point for Daiwa. For the new 22 EXIST, the design of several components of the bail arm has been retouched. The diameter of the hollow pick-up has been reduced by 30%, its angle reworked to streamline line engagement, and the roller has an extra groove to better center the line distribution and limit twitches (Twist Buster III).

The Airdrive Spool: the spool is always a decisive factor in assessing a reel’s design, a reflection of its character. On this version of Daiwa's flagship range, the spool is lighter, with a shoulder at the bottom to limit the risks of line engaging on the shaft, and is equipped with a new evolution of the brake system, ATD-L, as well as a new noisy ratchet with a louder sound.

Airdive Shaft: The vertical rotational force coming from the handle is converted by the pinion into horizontal force. The shaft running through the pinion supports the spool oscillation. These exchange of constraints are critical and represent an engineering challenge to achieve smooth operation. The floating shaft is now supported by a pinion whose ends are fitted with bearings to ensure better power transmission without loss and collars that ensure silence.

A small jewel that will delight all fine fishing enthusiasts in sea and freshwater alike.

Technologies:
• LT
• Bearings: 12+1 including 2 MagSealed and 10 CRBB
