The amberjack (Seriola dumerili) is a large saltwater predatory fish. The species is endemic in most coastal waters of almost all warm waters of both hemispheres. It prefers rocky ledges or reefs where it feeds on fish, crustaceans and molluscs. It can reach 2 meters in length and is characterised by an amber coloured band that extends along its body. It is a very popular fish among anglers due to its size and endurance.
