The Torium is the flagship of Shimano's star drag casting reel range, offering mid-range pricing. The lightweight, compact build and high 6.2:1 gear ratio allow you to use the Torium for a wide range of methods, including jiging fishing, bottom fishing and even casting large lures and leads. If you're looking for a small, reliable and high-performing Shimano star drag casting reel, the Torium is a great option and offers exceptional versatility for a wide range of fishing methods. Available in left and right crank options, the fast retrieval is perfect if you're a fan of deep sea fishing or jiggling, with more than enough strength to overcome the biggest bottom predator. You can also pair it with a lighter rod for slow jiging fishing or even casting with lures and larger leads. As soon as you hold the Torium, you can feel the quality of construction produced by the lightweight HAGANE body. It's strong and durable, yet very compact thanks to the S Compact body design. In fact, its visual size belies the power and line capacity of this perfectly formed super-fast multiplier. With a 6.2:1 gear ratio, all sizes, except for the smallest size 14, retrieve well over a meter of line per turn. Thanks to the large Cross Carbon Drag washers, adjusted by the Star Drag, the Torium has an 11 kg brake, making it an ideal partner for all pelagic fish, except the largest ones.
