The Nexave is available in sizes 6000 and 8000, making it perfect for specimen or heavy fishing, where larger reel sizes make fishing easier, particularly for long distance casting or fishing for large, strongly fighting fish. Combining low cost with Shimano's quality reputation, the Nexave is an excellent reel for beginners or for occasional use when fishing for specimens. Featuring a superb multi-disc front brake for confident fishing, particularly when targeting strong, combative fish, the Nexave also has a lightweight Aluminum spool associated with AR-C line management typically found on far more expensive models. To maximize your casting performance, with nylon or braid, Shimano's exclusive Varispeed line lay produces incredibly smooth winding, reducing friction as it leaves the spool.
