BERMUDES Tested to withstand the sea and approved by the greatest sailors such as Olivier de Kersauson or Erwan Tabarly, the brand Bermudes has been designing quality technical clothing since 1984, drawing its legitimacy and inspiration from the world of sailing!
FEATURES Waterproof: The more waterproof the fabric. Your rain gear is chosen based on several criteria: the type of rain and exposure time will help you determine the waterproofing level of your rainwear. A waterproof jacket to 5000 mm of water should thus allow you to stay dry under a rain of 100 L/h/m² for more than 2 hours. The qualitative nature of the rainfall is difficult to assess, Météo-France considers that on our territory, heavy rain corresponds to a level of precipitation of 8 L/h/m², far from these records! Breathable The human body produces about 0.06 liters of water per hour at rest, and the more the effort increases, the more the amount of water released is going to be significant. Breathability is a fabric's ability to evacuate the water vapor created by the body in effort. A fabric guaranteeing good breathability limits the condensation of water vapor inside the garment and keeps the body dry, it should be known that even at rest and the more intense the effort
Waterproof It is not enough for the component of your jacket to be waterproof for you to stay dry; the needle holes needed for your jacket assembly must be sealed to ensure total waterproofness of the product. The velcros, elastics and cuffs located at the extremities also allow to reduce water infiltration. On our sealed pieces, you will find an example with cartelin.
Water Repellency The water-repellent features of a material must not be confused with its waterproofness: the water-repellency of a fabric corresponds to its ability to let water bead on its surface, without absorbing it. Water repellency is not an intrinsic quality of the fabric but results from a hydrophobic treatment applied on the outer side of the fabric; normal wear, as well as detergents and other impurities require a reactivation of the water-repellent treatment, or a renewal of the treatment.
Windproof The feeling of cold increases considerably with the wind. The coating and membrane applied to the back of your jacket fabric constitute a barrier against wind, therefore limiting heat loss.
Semi-Waterproof During bad weather, it is the upper part of your jacket which is particularly exposed. That is why, for even more comfort and technicality, the main seams of your garment are sealed.
