BERMUDES Tested to withstand the sea and approved by great sailors such as Olivier de Kersauson or Erwan Tabarly, the Bermudas brand has since 1984 been designing quality technical clothing that draws its legitimacy and inspiration from the world of sailing!
FEATURES Waterproof: The more waterproof the fabric will be. Your rain gear is chosen based on several criteria: the type of rain and exposure time will help you determine the level of your rain gear's waterproofness. It is considered that a 5000 mm waterproof jacket should keep you dry under 100 L/h/m² rain for more than 2 hours. The qualitative nature of the rainfall is hard to estimate, Météo-France considers that on our territory, heavy rain corresponds to a precipitation level of 8 L/h/m², far from these records! Breathable The human body produces about 0.06 liter of water per hour at rest, and the more intense the effort, the more water will be released. Breathability is the fabric's ability to evaporate water vapor created by the body during effort. A fabric with good breathability limits the condensation of water vapor inside the clothing and keeps the body dry, even at rest and the more intense the effort.
Waterproof It is not enough for the component constituting your jacket to be waterproof to assure you of staying dry; the needle holes necessary for the assembly of your jacket must be sealed to ensure a perfect waterproofness of the product. Velcros, elastics and sleeves located at the ends also limit water ingress. On our sealed parts you will find an example with the carteline.
Water Repellence The water repellency characteristics of a fabric should not be confused with its waterproofness: a fabric's water repellence is its ability to let water pearl on its surface, without absorbing it. Water repellency is not an intrinsic quality of the fabric but results from a hydrophobic treatment applied on the outer surface of the fabric; normal wear, as well as detergents and other impurities require a reactivation of the water repellent treatment, or a renewal of the treatment.
Windproof The feeling of cold increases significantly with the wind. The coating and membrane applied to the back of your jacket fabric form a barrier against the wind and therefore allow you to limit heat loss.
Semi-Waterproof During bad weather, it is the upper part of your garment that is especially exposed. That's why, for even more comfort and technicality, the main seams of your garment are sealed.
