The NEW Kombat Boots were designed by Danny Fairbrass to replicate the premium walking shoes he used to wear for fishing, but with the inclusion of a few additional features to make them perfect for anglers, and without such a high price.
They have been designed with comfort and functionality in mind, whilst still retaining some style. They offer excellent levels of waterproofing, which is essential when you're walking through wet grass or stepping into shallow water or puddles, as wet feet quickly become a misery and can ruin your session. The soles were designed with considerations such as grip and durability, they offer a superb grip on the types of surfaces you are likely to encounter when you are fishing and will save you from a potentially embarrassing slip. The Kombat boots are also perfect for walking long distances. They provide support without being stiff and you won't even feel like you're wearing them! Many walking boots can be difficult to put on and take off quickly, but these have been designed specifically for fishermen and open wide to be slipped on quickly when you have a bite in the middle of the night. Another issue with some walking boots is that the shoelaces continually come undone, which not only means that you have to stop to retie them, but also that they drag in the mud and can cause you to trip, but the Kombat boots have a flat lace design to ensure that this doesn't happen and that they stay tied up.
Danny Fairbrass explains: "They are inspired by a high-end hiking boot I bought in Italy a few years ago for a lot more than these. They have a leather top and a waterproof membrane on the inside, which allows you to stay in the water if you want. People always ask if they're warm - no, they're not warm, because they're not supposed to be, because they're supposed to be waterproof and have a good grip, but wearing them with a combination of our waterproof and merino socks, you'll keep your feet warm inside."
Colours: Olive Green or brown
Note: When buying, make sure to take into account the socks you would be wearing with them, as you may need a size up if you're wearing thick socks.
