The Klor hook model has been designed and created by Danny Fairbrass to be an aggressive, strong hook with quick rotation and usable with a wide variety of setups. It is produced by one of the best Japanese hook manufacturers and is incredibly strong. It has proven capable of withstanding fishing for large fish in extreme conditions, both in the UK and in Europe.
The Klor has a very aggressive shape (even more so than the Kurv Shank), with a point aligned with the eyelet, which facilitates its rotation when the carp takes it in. The reversed shank and the eyelet curved inwards also mean that the hook can be used without needing to add a thermo-sleeve or a kicker.
It can be used with braid, coated braid (provided the first few centimetres behind the eyelet of the hook are stripped) or in combi-rig.
The curved point is long, ultra-sharp and slightly turned inward, which ensures a good hold of the hook after puncturing. It is also much less likely to be damaged by nuisance species, such as crayfish and small fish, that move it on the bottom, especially when fishing on gravel or hard bottoms.
The shank is iron strong, making for a very strong hook that can be used in extreme conditions, even using braid, without fearing that it will open. During the tests, Danny had landed carp of over 60 pounds in wild French waters full of obstacles. Despite the iron strong shank, the point remains very sharp and the barb, once the hook is embedded, ensures it stays in place.
