Developed by SATAN SHIMADA, prostaff for EVERGREEN and MADNESS, the BALAM is a new generation of Big Bait designed to cater to specific techniques. Its multi-section articulated body gives it unparalleled fluidity for this size of lure and allows for ultra-high speed retrieval without unhooking to mimic a fleeing fish and trigger aggression reflexes. During pauses (Dead Sticking) and slow jerky retrieval, its body produces a very natural movement that helps to fool the wariness of educated fish. The BALAM particularly distinguished itself with the enormous Japanese Bass with the famous "Eight Trap", a technique originally developed for Musky in which the BALAM excels. This Hypnotic technique involves triggering follower fish at the boat by simulating a surface chase by producing an 8 (Figure Eight) at high speed to create maximum turbulence.

The BALAM comes in 2 sizes: 300 and 245 mm, it can also be used overhead by adding a pear lead to the head eyelet to fish deeper, especially when hunting for pike. To fish with BALAM, SATAN SHIMADA uses the Evergreen Actaeon Magnum and Actaeon Magnum EX rods.
