The W3 Smokey Grey braid has been developed for trout and sea fishers who are looking for a top-quality braided line. Our innovative construction allows us to create a line that combines maximum abrasion resistance with a very smooth surface. The W3 Smokey Grey braid is made from top-quality ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMPE) Japanese fibres, with an 8X design. The W3 Smokey Grey braid uses a construction with 32 braids per inch for a smoother surface and enhanced abrasion resistance. Sea trout and saltwater fishers require a line with added rigidity to prevent wind knots caused by the repeated casting in frequently harsh onshore winds. To achieve this, the W3 Smokey Grey features a double Dura-Coating that gives the line greater rigidity. The Dura-Coating gel process gives the braid a smoother and hydrophobic surface, reducing water absorption and friction. To ensure the maximum colour stability, the W3 Smokey Grey is dipped in dye baths before being oven-dried to 'bake in' the pigment and then sealed with a double gel-coat for improved longevity.
